Welcome, I'm Tahirah...
I'm a Counsellor, Psychotherapist, Mentor, CBT Therapist, Clinical Supervisor, and Advocate for Neurodiversity. I’m also the Founder of The Neuro Directory, a platform dedicated to improving access to neuro-affirming services and support.

I offer a warm, confidential, and inclusive space for clients of all backgrounds — whether you’re navigating anxiety, trauma, identity, neurodivergence, or simply need a safe place to be heard. My practice is grounded in a commitment to supporting people just as they are, without judgement or expectation to mask or "fix" who they are.

I work with children, adolescents, and adults, offering in-person counselling in Gloucester, Cheltenham, Bristol, and London, as well as remote sessions for clients across the UK and internationally — including those who are neurodivergent and may need a more flexible, understanding approach.

My therapeutic philosophy is humanistic, relational, and client-centred, drawing on a range of integrated approaches to suit your individual needs. These include psychodynamic therapy, trauma-informed care, CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing), and neuro-affirmative practice.
My work is always race- and diversity-aware, because therapy should feel safe, accessible, and reflective of who you are.

Whether you're new to therapy or returning after some time away, I’m here to walk alongside you — gently, collaboratively, and with care.

WHY COUNSELLING OR PSYCHOTHERAPY?
Counselling is an opportunity to work through the issues and problems with someone professionally trained in active listening and in a confidential, non-judgemental space.

The purpose of therapy is not to advise, but rather to bring awareness to understand the internal and external conflicts that exist. Hence helping you feel more empowered and more self-aware and to help you to have a greater freedom of choice.

Psychotherapy is a deeper emotional understanding of all of the above. It can help with the profounder emotions that cause the feelings of deep solitude and of hopelessness. Therapy is a process.
